that can often mean outsourcing document scanning is not only the
better option but more cost effective.

more cost effective to outsource or process in-house. If you are
only scanning a few pages a day or week buying a scanner and completing
the process yourself is by far the easiest and cheapest option.

when outsourcing.
In addition to scanning, indexing or categorising of the documents
is often required to ensure that you have useable and easy to find
documents. Replacing hundreds of pages that you have searched through
to locate the one you need with images that you then also have to
search through is not generally the best option. Indexing or a properly
constructed file naming convention, gives meaning to stored images
giving search functionality easily and speedily.
At the end of the day only you can decide on which is the best
scanning solution. Weighing up the pros and cons should help answer
